It looks a little complicated, Is it reliable?

The Slope Surfer TM Makes extensive use of modern composite technology, in particular, carbon fiber. Each platform of the adult Slope Surfer TM is designed to take 3000 lbs of force. That means that if you weigh 200 lbs and put all of your weight on one foot, the Slope Surfer TM could handle 15 Gs without breaking. Another way to look at this is that for you to break the slope surfer, you would need to be able to take 3000 lbs through a single leg. Our motto is, you will break before the Slope Surfer TM does. 

A Slope Surfer TM probably has fewer parts than the bindings of snow skis. We can't say much about its comparison with snowboards. Snowboards are extremely simple.
